Stereo Wiring

Hey guys. I'm installing a sub and amp to the factory unit (for now). Anyway, I've got the LOC and all of my pieces, but what wires on the back of the unit are for the rear speakers? If anyone has a wiring diagram I would really appreciate if you shared it. I google searched for an hour but couldn't find anything.

 

Also, I'm thinking about maybe installing the LOC at the rear of the vehicle but I'm not looking forward to pulling off the door panels. Anyone tapped into the speaker wires somewhere else? If so, let me know. I've done a ton of stereo installs, but I can't find a darn wiring diagram for this truck.

EDIT: This is on a 2008 NON-Bose System.

 

I just did this same thing to my 2010 non-bose ext cab. I tapped into the RR speaker leads that are underneath the sill plate for the rear door. the wire colors are dark blue+ light blue- and they are twisted together. The LR wire colors are brown+ yellow- if you want to go that way. I mounted the amp behind the big fold up seat, made for a shorter speaker lead run for the loc to tap into the RR speaker. GL with the install.

Alright, so this is really weird. I got this all installed and tapped into the left-rear speaker feed. I plug it all in, turn it on and I have NO sound out of the sub. Amp is on, sub is good as verified by a battery. So I play with the gains some, no luck.

 

THEN, I unplug the RCA from the LOC and once i get the RCA half way out, I get good sound out of the sub. Anyone ever have this before, what is the deal?

Try a different set of RCA's. Did you buy the ones you have new?

hey,

I was thinking of doing the same thing(taping into the rear speakers) but i was curious as to where you hooked up your remote line for your amp to get it to turn on? And did you share it with your speaker or did you just take the leads directly to your amp. Sorry, a newb on keeping the factory stereo in the installation :/

possible that the positive and neg are reversed ?
