2002 Gmc Sierra Check Engine Light Problem

i have a 2002 gmc sierra 1500 sl and my check engine light came on. so i brought it to get read at a buddies shop and when we plugged the computer into the insert it got no power at all. to maek sure it worked we plugged it into another trucks and it worked fine. any thoughts on what could be wrong with it and how hard it may be to repair

check your fuses. if your cigarette lighter is out too then the fuse is bad. It's on the same power circuit as the OBD II plug

Check all your fuses especially the one that operates the outlets you use for GPS's or cell phones that you plug in
