Which Suspension Component Is Failing?

I've noticed twice in the last month that when turning the wheel to the left while reversing, I hear one or two "pops" from the driver's front side.

 

What is the most likely component that would be failing under these conditions?

What method is used to confirm?

Is there a better/heavier duty part that it can be replaced with?

and finally...

What other issues are likely to arrise as a result of this component failing (can I wait until after I get home from GA next week)?

 

 

ETA: Close to 37k miles, leveling kit installed somewhere in the 5k range.

I would guess ball joints. Seems to be somewhat common lately. How many miles are on the truck?

Ah, forgot to add that in the OP, roughly 37k.

From what ive heard Moog is the aftermarket ones to go with. Ive seen acouple others on here with leveling kits on here have there ball joints go out around the same mileage. But i also think there are some stock trucks with the same problems. I have a 2.5 level on mine so im starting to see what i have to look forward to lol.

 

Im sure others with the same issues will give info on this as the day goes on. I believe with the upper ball joint you need a whole new A arm and the lowers are replaceable. You may find some info in this topic usefull LINK and there are other topics out there to with info about the same problem.
