6 Inch Lift And Keep My 33's?

Recommended Posts

Remeasured again and have 5 inches of clearance from the sat antenna to the mouth of the garage door. If I removed my front leveling and installed a six lift would I still fit? I was planning on just doing a 3 inch body lift on my mods now knowing for sure that would fit, but now the extra few inches of clearance has me thinking scrap the level/body lift. What would you guys do? Thanks!

how much ACTUAL room do you have to fit the truck in the garage? please don't say "it's a 7' door" .

The garage is 7 ft but the mouth where i measured at is 6'8, and from that point to my roof antenna is 5 inches.

6" lift and 35s and park it outside and fill the garage with other toys and or your daily driver car. Thats what did and my truck is just fine outside.

i have like 2" of lift and 33,s and its ok..i think it might look funny being up 6" with only 33" worth of tire and not 35 or 37,s

Most 6" lifts aren't 6" lifts anymore. Most are netting 7-8" of actual lift. I don't really forsee you getting in the garage if you go that route, and a true 33x12.50 looks good with 6" of lift. There are tons of them in my area, as most dealerships go this route with the lifted trucks they sell to avoid rubbing/trimming.

This, and with only a 33" tire, not needing to re-gear the truck to have it feel "normal"

He pretty much did hit the nail on the head. Real 33s look good, but when people start reffering to 285/xx/xx as 33s just because they are 33" in diameter, well those wouldnt look good.

And I'm with him, its still not going to fit in the garage, and 35s tend to be more like 34.5" and then closer to a 33.5" once they are worn down so why not go 35s and like i said earlier just leave it outside.

i have a 7' door and there is no way i'm getting my truck in the garage. i have a 6" superlift and 35" toyo mt's and i'm about 2-3" over from getting it in.

Is there a way to remove the shark fin on the top of the truck to give you more room?

Yes, a guy on another forum has 6 inch lift, and 35s and removed his fin but backs in instead of pulling in. Said it only takes a few seconds. Throws it back on after he pulls out. He said its tight but he fits.

On a cold day in Colorado that might be worth it.

I know this is an old thread but I was just thinking about this today. Does anyone have any pics of what this would look like?

Also, what is a true 33" tall tire? I thought 33 was just a calculation of the numbers that make up the tire sizes???? Sorry to sound dumb but I am new to the lifting the truck and tire measurements in this format....

I don't have any pics, but some of us refer to a true 33 as a 33x12.50. Steve hit the nail on the head when he mentioned folks referring to "285/xx/xx as 33s just because they are 33" in diameter." It's just a term. Basically a 33x12.50 looks a whooole lot bigger than say a 275/60/20.
