This is for a 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, 4x4 with the 6.0. I was driving down the road, about 55mph, and turned the brights on to watch for animals. As soon as I turned the lights on, the truck slammed down about 3 gears, the airbag light started flashing, the truck lost power and the radio reset. I pulled over to the side of the road and slowed the truck to about 20mph and everything came back to normal. Other issues include the cruise control not working, the trailer brake system saying it needs servicing and also the four wheel drive system saying it needs to be service. I tried to shift it into 4x4 and it wouldn't go. I checked all of the fuses and nothing was blown. Please let me know what can be done about this, the truck is not safe to tow our trailer as it sits. Thank you for any ideas.

First thing I would do is check your battery connections....make sure they are tight and cannot be moved at all. Trust me, seen this more than once.

Thanks, I was thinking something along those lines, I'm hoping that will fix at least some of the problems.

any warranty left?

Govtech4, yes there is warranty left, however it's only the powertrain. I checked my battery connections this morning and the positive side was about to fall off. Tightened it down, no more truck shutdown. About the 4x4 service and trailer brake service, would that be included under the powertrain warranty or should I be hitting the dealer up I purchased the truck from on Saturday? IIRC, the last time I saw a light about the 4x4 system on my old 2000 Chevy, it was the switch on the dash that went bad.
