I have a 1999 Silverado 1500 with a 4.8L. Anyone know if the 5.3L is the same throttle body or not? Im looking for a new one cause i think something is wrong with mine. I can't find any for the 4.8L. I also wanted to know if anyone knows if you can get just the bolts?

Yes they're are the same, a TB doesn't just break, impossible, never heard of it. Especially a cable one. And why replace the bolts? Now the spring might break over many peddle uses, but you'd definitely know if that's what it was.

Haha! ok yes i know they usually don't break but im really having trouble with this one:

I have a lifted 99 Silverado 2wd with 33inch Tires 285's. It's a 4.8L auto with K&N cold air kit, PowerAid Throttle Body spacer, Granatelli MAF sensor and I have a Cortex SuperChips tuner. It has almost 254,000 miles but it has been running great up until now. Acutally it still runs great once you start it. It starts then turns off right away. Start it again it stays on. Or The first start just hold the gas just a little and it will stay on. I have replaced by the dealer the fuel pump and decarbonized the engine. I replaced the fuel filter and cleaned up the Throttle Body and Air Filter.I have replaced the IAC and TPS. Today I cleaned the MAF.

I was thinking about trying to put it all back to stock but someone in the house put the stock Throttle body bolts in the trash. Im just really stuck here.

Sounds to me like a bad regulator maybe, next time you try it, cycle the key about 4 times or so waiting 10 seconds each time for the key to stay on and then finally try cranking it up after all those cycles are done with.
