Jl Stealthbox

Thinking about whether on 10" or the 2 10"'s in the JL Stealthbox will be too much. I am currently running a sealed 8" inch box in my RC sierra. But, Is one 10" enough in a crew cab?

If anyone is running a JL Stealthbox, how much power do you have running to it? I would like to do a 5 channel amp and replace the other 4 speakers, but is a 4-channel and separate sub amp a better plan? thanks

I am looking for tight sound from a sealed box, no ghetto blasters.

also if you have the JL box, is it the console (one 10") or rear seat box (2 10"'s)?

thanks

One good 10 with the correct box and a big amp will sulfide you. My brother had a RF 10 hooked to the stock oem head that was sick!

I have the dual 10 JL Stealthbox in my 2008 ext cab. Im running it off a Planet Audio HVT-7100 2 channel tube amp bridged, 300x1 @ 2ohm and works plenty good. A Planet Audio HVT-754 4 channel tube amp to a set of Pioneer Premier TS M7-PRS mids and TS T3-PRS tweeters mounted in my pillars. My head unit is a Pemier 880-PRS, running active 3-way in pro mode. I gutted the whole truck and laid Rammat sound deadener. Project was not cheap, but in my experience, you get what you pay for when it comes to car audio. Here is some pics.

I have the single 10" Stealthbox in my 2010 with a 400w mono amp....works excellent. I had a full system in my 06 (head unit, amps, 2x10" subs, etc, etc) and this unit with the factory head unit pumps out just as well. The only complaint is that since it's in the console, it'll shake coffee right outta the cup with some good ol' Kid Rock in there. The nice part is it is totally stealthy. The amp is up behind the rear seats on the wall.

The stereo shop where I get all my stuff does lots of high-rent competition deals and they have a Yukon XL (or whatever the new style Suburban-type rig is called) that has a full competition set-up in it. It uses only the single JL Stealthbox with a high-end JL amp for bass in this rig....and it's pretty sick.

You should be fine with a single 10" especially if you're doing well with your 8". I ran 2 10" kappa perfects in my 01 extended cab and I had nice clean sound. If you really want to push power dual amps is usually the best way to do it. Run a 4 channel for your front & rear doors and an amp for the sub. If i remember right you can also do a 6 channel amp and just bridge the 2 sub channels but don't quote me on that I only have a basic knowledge of this stuff but was satisfied with my set up. Good luck regardless of what you choose

I am running the dual 10" box in my 2009 Crew Cab. I have the 5-channel JL amp running everything. I am generally happy with the sound, it is tight but can get loud when you push it hard.
