Added aftermarket backup camera to my 2008 Avalanche today. Also added the USB plug. Navigation radio came out of a 2010 so it had the USB port. I just bought the cover, insert and minib plug. All work great..

What parts did you have to replace/upgrade and what part numbers did you get?

Do you have the RES? (Panasonic rear DVD screen and rear audio controls?)

Did you have to have the dealership reprogram anything in the NAV unit or was it all plug-n-play ?

The USB and Camera were both plug and play in mine but before I installed the nav, I sent it to CPS in California to have it programmed. Pretty wild that they can program it without my avalanche. Just sent them my codes from the glovebox.

 

My Avalanche does not have the RES. It has the Standard BOSE system and parking assist and onstar.

 

Parts were:

Radio - 25966513 with the USB port Navigation DVD

VSS/camera plug, voice command VCIM plug both from Ebay Item number: 110592907770

Camera from ebay Item Number 170563892024

USB Parts

USB recepticle from GM parts (20944422) - $30

USB Cover 20888040 $5.61 from the dealer.

Went to dcables.com and got a 3 foot mini B male to mini B 5 pin cable.

I don't care much for my backup camera at night. Great picture, but it's WAY too bright. I can't see out of the mirrors in the truck due to how bright it is.

 

Actually...The whole navigation radio sucks. I've wanted to punch a hole in that sucker every time I've used it. I think a team of drunk monkeys programmed the user interface.

My backup camera does not have a light with it. The backup lights are pleanty of light to see behind me at night. If you get a good camera you don't need much light. Make sure it is a CCD and not a CMOS camera.

 

I have an aftermarket Nav system the Pioneer AVIC in my Sebring and have to say the OEM unit in my Avalanche is much better.

Mine doesn't have a light either, it's the display I was talking about being so bright.

I am attempting to do this to my 2008 seirra denali without rear entertainment, I can not get my 2010 navigation to work, I'm curious if you have the rear entertainment and if not, what you all reprogrammed as options to make it work. We've been pulling our hair out. I have a nav with dvd option and one out of a 2010 seirra denali that will also not program in my 2008 denali, any help will be appreciated.

I could not get a dealer to program mine so I sent it to CPS in California and they programmed it for me. I had a 2010 denso unit. Send Greg at CPS an email with your NAV model unit and see if he can program it for you. He charges 125 including shipping and you will be amazed when it comes back. My nav unit was unlocked but volume was full blast and I could not adjust it. Worked perfect when I got it back. What is the model number of your 2010 unit? Hope it is not a DELPHI.

My unit is a Denso unit, actually the same number as yours. We were able to program the other ebay nav i purchased but we can not get this one to do anything. I'm not too happy about purchasing a Nav off ebay and then having to send it to someone else and pay more money to have it reprogrammed. We spent another couple hours tonight trying to program it...

I know. I did not want to spend more money but I did want it to work. All the dealers I worked with were clue less. If you send the unit to California, you send a picture of the numbers in your glovebox and Greg at CPS turns it all on. On my Avalanche I had rear parking sensors, Bose non lux, and no RSE. Does have the little radio in the back for passengers. Don't think that is considered RSE. Greg programmed it so my Onstra, rear sensors, USB, chimes, turn signals, and everything else works like it came with my AVY. Later I added a backup camera and it worked also. Plays DVD's in park on the head unit as I do not have rear DVD player.

 

Stop going crazy and send it in...

I'm looking at obtaining a Denso DW468100-5174 from a 2007 Chevy Avalanche LTZ. I have a 2007 Chevy Avalanche LTZ without navigation, but with Rear Seat Entertainment.

• Camera (haven't purchased) - looking at item 262136213806 on eBay
• Unlock options - send it to "Chris" or take it to a Chevy Dealer
• What else might I need?

Trying to determine if its better get an aftermarket radio or try to keep it original with some additional parts.

Does anyone know what each wire does are does anyone have a wiring diagram to this plug that was cut accidentally. .it is the chassis plug..it's off a 2016 Chevy durmax with the camera in the tail gate..I put a cm body on it and the guy that wired it up cut the plug so I cut the actual camera plug in hopes of hard wiring it, now I'm stuck..please help
