ok I feel really stupid..

my Avalanche didn't come with the cross rails, I bought some online that are Avalanche part numbers..

based on looking at another GMT-900 SUV I can see HOW they are supposed to attach and I can tell that these are the correct length..

but HOW do you get them on?

do I have to disassemble the rails and slide them up? that is the only way can see how they might go on, they don't appear to hook and snap/latch like any other rails I've seen.. I just don't get it..

How does this work? and no there are no directions in the owners manual..

On my 2004 Suburban I have to remove the end caps at the rear of the rails and slide the cross bars onto the rails. They bars slide and lock in place where ever you want them after they are on the rails.
