can the radio reception be adjusted in a 2008 Silverado? if so, how?

Are you talking about the sensitivity of the tuner or changing stations?

yes is there an antenna trimmer either on the radio or in the antenna itself? the old chevys you could pull off the tuner knobs and adjust the reception. the radio in the 08 has static when listening to some what local radio stations

Do you have a DVD video set up in the truck? If you do, there is a switch that will block weak stations when in the on position so that you can hear the audio on the vehicle speakers. My 2000 Suburban had this. If your's doesn't have a video set-up, however, I don't know if there is an antenna trimmer. I've not heard of one.

no dvd, its a 6 cd changer. there must be a trimmer maybe. if Rich (MS3DALE) sees this he might have an answer?

Dont know if these radios have trimmers or not. But most trimmers only work for the AM freq's.
