Help With Rear Pads!

I went to do new rear rotors and pads on my 02 z71, and picked up all the stuff from Pepboys. The rear pads are a hair to long and wont fit into the caliper however. i grinded them all down with a grinding wheel and drill and got them to fit in somewhat, so i thought. Turns out they have been dragging all week. So i said f it and went to napa to get some 'real' brake pads, i just went to install them and am having the same problem, they are a HAIR too long!!! Anybody else run into this problem? I gave them all the exact specs for my truck, then he asked single or dual rear caliper piston and i told him single. Why wont these fit?

The last set were wearing very unevenly because they wouldnt sit in flush to the rotor. I made sure i was trying to install them parallel to the rotor but they are just too damn long!? Now same thing with the new Napa set

Just spent another couple hours on it......i'm at my wits end. I've done dozens and dozens of brake jobs and have never had this much trouble

Are the guide pins frozen in place? The caliper bolts to these pins and the pins float inside the caliper bracket. They should be free to rotate and slide in and out within the limits of the rubber boot.

I missed that last time I did the brakes and wore out a set of disks with heat and warpage. I had to put a torch to the bracket and beat them loose (after removing the boots) and a good bit of PB Blaster. Clean the pins and the holes and use brake grease.
