Trans Click?

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what I'm hearing. My truck seems to make a clicking sound from either the trans or t-case. It only clicks when in gear and rolling, forward or back. Throw the rig into neutral while rolling and the clicking stops.

It sounds very similar to one or those peg wheels that people spin to win a prize... just a lower tone.

There's no slipping, misses, nothing that I can feel. Just the damn clicking which seems to fade a little when things warm up.

I have an automatic trans... approx 80,000 miles on the rebuild.

I would suspect a bad u-joint. I had one that was clicking only when there was power to the rear wheels but when i hit the brakes or put it in neutral it would stop clicking. Try taking out your driveshaft and checking the movement of the joint.

I just replaced those around 8 months back. That'd suck if they are already toast.

May as well look... what could happen right.
