On Star Application "my Link"

Hello I have a 2008 Silverado with On Star factory installed and was wondering what the difference is with the new 2011 On Star with the My Link application on cell phones, is this an On Star thing or can the dealer install a new box on my truck for this application or?

works for 2011s only.. per onstar, you would have to have a 2011 onstar module (version 9 I believe) but I doubt the dealership could get that module to sync with your VIN and settings as it wasn't designed for your car..

 

 

if you find out different I'd love to know I am more than irked that my 2010 I bought 6 weeks ago is assed-out of this feature.
