In November I purchased a set of Aires nerf bars for my new 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab. During installation I was not able to back out the middle driver's side cab bolt more than a couple of rounds so I retightened it. I then had the dealership try to back it out using their air impact wrench. While they were trying to back it out the nut inside (not visible) began to spin. The mechanic said that GM had no procedure published to fix this.

I would have thought it to be covered under the bumper-to-bumper warranty but the dealership did not offer to fix it. Has anyone had this problem before and what is the fix?

Your truck was built in Mexico and yes, not only should a GM dealership's body shop fix it, they can fix it.

Not a big deal.
