Check Tire Pressure

Recommended Posts

Last week I got the check tire pressure message and yellow indicator light. My tires were just low on air so I put some in.

The indicator light is no longer on, but I still get a "check left rear tire pressure" message. The tire pressure is fine. I can press the button on the dash and cycle through the message and it won't appear again until I turn my truck off and turn it back on.

Anyway to get it to go away?

While I have a thread going, I bought my truck certified used at 48,000 miles. Would the dealership have performed any of the maintenance that is usually done after 50K? I am at 55K and took it in to a different dealer to get my locks fixed and they did a 24 point inspection and recommended I get the transmission serviced and change the fuel filter along with some other high mileage stuff that is normal.

Any chance the dealer I bought it from did any of this and this other dealership just didn't have a way to know about it?

what is that tire aired up to? should be 35 psi.

and replace the fuel filter??? I think I would turn and run... the fuel filter on trucks 2004 and up is NON-SERVICEABLE and replaced with the pump dies (it's a sock filter), it's no longer a maintenance item.

I think around 40-45. The max says 50 on the tire. Sometimes it comes on and sometimes it doesn't so I think it might just be a broken sensor.

Hmm, it was even the dealership that said I should do that. Then again they wanted to charge me $35 to replace the windshield wipers.

For future reference, normal running pressure should be what it says on inside of the door when you open it.

That is when you run factory size tires.
