Broken Door Latch Linkage, 2007 Nbs Sierra

The housing is broke where the door latch cable connects to the inside door handle (drivers side). The cable has a ball on the end which sits in a housing in a lever (looks to be magnesium) that is connected to the inside plastic handle. The cable and ball have ripped out and wrecked the housing. I have to roll my window down and open my door from the outside. The genius' at the local dealership have no idea what im talking about and said i need a whole new door panel, i laughed, left, and have not been back since. Does anybody know the proper name and/or the part number for this broken piece and where i can buy a new one. Thanks

Nobody has any idea?

I have looked before and decided that a new door panel was the only way to fix it........

Thanks. I was afraid of that. I just cant justify spending that kind of money for a cheap magnesium piece. Buying a door panel is the last resort.

It is true you need a new door panel. Unless you "jury-rig it" somehow and then it looks not so good.

I think i might try a machine shop and wreckers. If that doesnt work the door will stay broken till i get tired of reaching out the window lol. Its going to be $800 for a new door panel from the dealership. It will probably be cheaper from another parts source but then i have to wait for it to ship to Canada.
