Best Cold Air Intake

K&N, S&B, even the GM Performance intake. All can be had for $250 or less. I like a dry filter too so the oil doesn't mess up your MAF sensor due to over oiling after cleaning them.

If your going to go the CAI route, buy an extra filter. That way you have a clean dry one all the time. This will stop any issues with oil getting on the MAF. I do and let my clean oiled filter sit in the garage for a week to make sure it's dry. Never had a problem.

Well if your worryed about money then dont buy one and put your money somewhere else as they do nothing for performance, all they do is give you more intake sound. Your trucks stock intake is already a CAI.

CAI are nice if your want more sound and can help alittle with HP. And also dress up the engine compartment. I enjoy the sound :P

I went with S&B

i have a 06' and i bought a Spectre (sp?) cold air kit from Autozone and it feels like i have more power than when i had the K&N Cold air on it. (sold the K&N to a buddy cause of job loss) not to mention the spectre is only about 150 bucks.... all in all it was a damn good deal.... i gained in MPG's by about 1.3 but it doesnt help that i have a lead foot

I have a 2007 new body style chevy 1500 and am wanting to put a new cold air intake on that won't break the bank. Any suggestions?

I have had K&N on a 5.7 and a 6.0 and have been happy with both. A friend has a GM on his Denali and is very happy with it. Another friend has an Air Raid on his 2011 Tahoe 5.3 and is happy. It seems any of the major manufacturers put out a good product.

AFE Stage 2 Pro Dry S. Period.

Cheaper than a K&N, toughens up the look of the engine compartment, sounds good (#1 reason), and as far as my ass-dyno can tell I gained some torque. As far as sound, I already had an exhaust system on and I could tell that the tone became louder and deeper. Along with the sound of the air being sucked into the intake when you punch the gas
