Transmission Fluid Change

I have 86,000 miles on my 2005 Gmc Sierra 1500. I have been wanting to change my fluid in my tranny for a year now. I was wondering if I should still do it with so many miles on it. I dont beat the crap out of it but I also dont drive like a granny. I have had a plow on it for a year now. I had a 700r4 in my old pickup and I changed the fluid within two months it blew I am not sure if I should do it. Please advise.

its an argument that can go on for days...you want to be safe just pan drop..change the filter and refill with new fluid(this will leave some old fluid still in it)...otherwise flush and refill with dex6
