I used the SoMnDuramax pattern of 1/8" angle iron and two existing bolts for the hood. Cut the plastic cover with a Dremel tool. I can email you some excellent photos with drawings and measurements included of his.

btw--Valco Electronics sells several setups of splitters to use your AM/FM for scanner monitoring. I can hear the 800 mHz radiios for over 20 miles.

PDC64

AM / FM / Scanner combiner, allows the use of your AM/FM Car Stereo antenna with your Scanner. Uses BNC Connector for your Scanner

TxDoc,

Did that Valco adapter work pretty well even though it was using your am/fm antenna?  Did it pick up just about anything in any band?  If you wouldnt mind, I'd like to see your pictures of your antenna setup.  Thanks!

Thanks for the replies.  People either: love it, hate it or look confused ?.

MarkD-?What was sticker??

--$40,111.00

Off Road Red ??Where did you pick up the storage box under the back seat?  Is it something that you can get from the dealer, if so how much $$$$?

---I searched from TX to FL to CA to AK  Finally found one in Canada! Paid $80.00 (as I remember).  It was supposed to be part of the GMC Professional package and I would bet after a while the cost will go down as people need replacements. Seeing as how you can buy an aluminum toolbox for a little over $200, they won?t keep asking $800+for a plastic box.  Check Ebay from time to time. One sold for $300 last week.

The SPEEDY-?what engine options are avalibe in the QS.?

---You can get a 5.3 with the extended cab half-ton shot bed and conventional hi/low range transfer case--AutoTrac, which I needed. You can get the 6.0 Liter in the 4 door HD short bed with Insta-Trac transfer case and the 6.0 Liter in the GMC Denali with the AWD and viscous-coupled transfer case with no low range.

99Silver5.3-?Did that Valco adapter work pretty well even though it was using your am/fm antenna?  Did it pick up just about anything in any band?  If you wouldnt mind, I'd like to see your pictures of your antenna setup.  Thanks!?

---It works great!  I once had a splitter for my CB to share the AM/FM antenna and it was disappointing. So, was the cell look-a-like thru the glass CB antenna. The Scanner is a Radio Shack Pro-2067. It is the smallest mobile scanner. It fit in the lower hole on the console. It and the CB above required cutting out the rear  of the plastic for depth. They are tight and do not rattle.  I pick up everything from low band VFD to 800 mHz trunked systems 30-40 miles away (repeater, I believe). I also was surprised to hear amateur radio operators on the 146 mHz area from 75 miles South and 65 miles West.  I think I have pics on the link below. I can take more detailed ones and give you SoMnDuramax?s link and email his detailed drawings on how to  make the mount.

90 Silverado 350-?tell us if it freaks people out when they see 4 wheels move side to side at a stop light.?

---People have followed me and stopped to tell me my rear wheel(s) are ?loose? or my axle is bent or wheel is bent, etc., etc.

mcali17-?SK Not to trying to be a jerk or anything but the crawling feature is absolutely true!!! You can make the truck crawl sideways from a dead stop. However, from a stop, lets say you have a camper attached, you are parked along another truck and camper to  your left, but you want to pull past what is to your left and make a left turn to exit a campsite. With Quadrasteer, you crank your steering wheel right and put one foot on the brake and press the accelerator. The rear wheels will pivot to the right. You can then let off of the brake, and drive slowly to your right.  I guess I should have really called in "Crabbing" and not "crawling." I belive that is the term that GMC uses, my fault.  ?

---Mine doesn?t do this. The front and rear wheels turn opposite of each other when sitting still in 4WS and 4WS Tow mode. My owner?s manual makes no reference, the interactive CD from GMC doesn?t and I have not seen anything on the GMC/Chevy/Delphi websites about it. I am not saying it won?t or is not supposed to. I have not been able to get it to do this.  What does happen is this?If I step on the brake turn hard right and apply a little throttle?the rear wheels pivot further out to the left, accentuating the turning angle. Front turning right and rear turning left even more. Is  it possible that is what you saw?

Sorry for the long post. I waited a year for this truck and could not be happier. I wish everyone could drive it. It may not be for everyone, but nothing is. It just fits what I need, wanted and desired to a ?T?.
