Confused...95 K1500

ok, so the truck i bought is nice except for two things. tranny leak (ive yet to see where its comin from but i leave for asscrackastan in 6 days so im not tearin into it now). and it also does this thing that confuses me...ONLY when its colder out (i.e. at night or early morning) the motor boggs down when i press the gas...like its not gettin fuel or somthin...idk. it bogs like its gunna stall then i tap the gas real fast a couple times and it picks up and GOES. but durring the day when its not too cold it opperates just fine. and it dont matter if its cold and the engine is warmed up, it still does it.

i have NO idea what may be causing this. any help would be GREATLY appreciated...havent changed anything yet but maybe the throttle position sensor...or idk what it would be, maybe the computer? but why only when its cold outside...(again engine temp has nothin to do with it). im at a loss.

edit: its not just once either, its at every acceleration or stoplight if you will. 355 marine block btw.

Could be alot of things.Low fuel pressure, fuel filter,Map sensor, beat plugs and wires..I doubt its the computer. If i remember right 95 is still TBI?so hows the fuel spray look?

i checked it out today. you are correct btw, fuel spray looks good (to me). the perplexing thing is it ONLY does it when its colder outside (im in vegas so colder is under 50F or so ) durring the day its just fine and dandy.

Coolant Temp. Sensor, about $14-$16 , and its in the intake manifold on top near the thermostat housing, has a 2 wire connector, usually a black wire and a yellow wire. The computer uses this sensor to adjust the fuel mixture before the O2 sensors heat up.

Exactly. I had the exact same problem on my 89 TBI 305. After a few attempts I switched out the coolant temp. sensor and I haven't had a problem since.

Stay safe over in the Sandbox man.

ha thanks, i do what i can man. anywho, im really hoping you all are right, its a very unnerving situation to try to cut into traffic, press the gas, and nothing happens. lol.

well if it is happening only when its cold out it could be a vacuum hose with a hole/crack in it that expands and closes itself with the heat. i think its a long shot but a can of carb cleaner would let you know real quick

When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? My 92 Suburban had issues similar before it got worse and did it all the time.. It turned out to be the fuel filter and if it should be changed once in awhile anyway... (mine was the inline canister near the frame under driver side)

Stay safe.

im going to dig through it and to a total tune up when i get home, oil change/filter change, all filters changed, replace all questionable sensors, plugs, wires, cap. nip everything in the butt.
