Throttle Position Sensor

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have been getting an engine code for the tps.... funny thing though I can't find it under the hood where it's supposed to be. It's an 06 Chevy silverado and The inlet Plenum has a servo attached to it, but nowhere do I see the part that the auto store has on hand. I looked down by the gas peddle and there is an attachment that kind of looks like it, but it doesn't look like it would fit.

Any help on this would be be great.

It's on the side of the throttle body. or the aluminum thing with butterfly flap in it that controls air intake.

Ya, right next to the thing-a -ma-jig, by the watch-ma-call-it!! ;-)

Your 06 has drive by wire so there will be an accelerator position sensor by the pedal (GM may call it something else though) and then a throttle position sensor on the engine. It's very possible that the parts store has the incorrect parts because for some reason it sticks in my head that my 03 had the sensor integrated with the stepper motor, though I can't prove this as my truck has been gone for 3 years.
