Top End Cleaner?

Has anyone ever used GM's Top End Cleaner?  I want to use it on my 8.1 L, and one dealer says "Just spray it through the throttle body . . .";  the other says "No, you can't spray it through the throttle body-you have to hook it up the fuel rail and then run the engine off of it."

Does it work?  I've got a slight spark knock under acceleration in mine, and the gas around here is mediocre at best-so there's a lot of carbon buildup in the tailpipe.  Before I take it into the dealer, I want to try this stuff first to see if it works-

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance-

I haven't tried it myself, just the dealer, but it did work well.  This was to cure a carbon build-up in the linear EGR on my '95 Jimmy 4.3L, so may have little application to your situation.  In this instance, it was hooked to the fuel rail, which is what they recommend for max effect, but it did clean things out fine, and seem to also have restored some power as well.

Hope this helps.  :)

In conjunction with the other thread, that liquid stuff is probably what they hook to your fuel rail.  THe aerosol stuff is applied exactly the way you described it in the other thread.
