Had a rusty fuel tank on my 85 c1500 and took it into the shop to get replaced, after the shop replaced the fuel tank i filled it up half way about $20 worth and drove it home and around the block a couple of times no problem.. That night got into the truck and started it up and drove to work also had no problem, leaveing work later that night as soon as the truck would shift into 3rd the engine would stall finally got it home after stalling out about 10 times and driving really slow at about 15 mph finaly got home only about a 2mile drive. But the next morning i come out to start the truck and get it warmed up truck starts and then stalls after about a min. so after visualy inspecting the carb i disconnect the fuel line going into the carb and try to crank it and no gas coming out of the line so i went and picked up a new mechanical fuel pump the yes its not electric shocker to some of you guys and installed it still no fuel and after about 5 mins of trying to "prime" the pump i drained the battery any possiblitys yall can think of i'm going to try to place a gas can under the truck and have a hose going to the pump so i can tell if the problem is the pump not sucking or back in the tank like a vac line or fuel sock or possibly the push rod that hits the fuel pump?

Yeah but would it run if the line was pinched for that long? cause i drove it about 25-30 miles before i started having problems
