Installed my exhaust today

I got the exhause yesterday and finally installed it today.  It's the Gibson cat-back system that goes exactly where the stocke exhaust was.  Great sound, not too loud, but not as quiet as the stock was.  Easy install!

did your instructions tell you to cut the stock exhaust in half before the axle?  Flowmaster's did, but I chose not too.  Anyone wanna buy a stock exhaust system??? ???

Why in the world would they tell you to cut it there??? Im baffled... Maybe its so if you dont like the sound of the Flowmaster, you have no choice in putting back the stock setup... :jester:

Good luck selling it, BTW... :thumb:

Ha, I've got a stock exhaust sitting in my rafters too after I installed the flowmaster.  I think the instructions say to cut it if you are working in your driveway to make it a bit easier.  I had an exhaust shop do mine, I figured paying 50 bucks was better than spending a few hours underneath the truck trying to get it on by myself.

Ordered the American Thunder Catback exhaust for my 98' Z71 from Summit Racing, but then called back next day because girlfriend was having trouble getting into my new truck... without a suspension lift kit! I cancelled the order and bought the Steel Horse stainless step bars for $280 instead and installed them 2 days later. Truck is actually less noisy now: she's not bitching about getting in anymore! :jester:

Any of you guys put this system on? I want to know how the truck sounds, I could care less about installation hassles. Will have a shop do it. I want this thing to ROAR!  :thumb:

I had to cut mine twice because the garbage men wouldn't pick it up if it was sticking out of the cans.  Check out the pic.  I ruined a good jig-saw blade the first time cutting while I was still under the truck because I couldn't get the d@m* thing out.  I love my exhaust right now....no complaints whatsoever!
