Shocks? Suburban 2006

I have a 2006 suburban that needs shocks.

We occasionally tow a trailer with about 3000lbs total. But it is used mostly for family duty and travel.

Is changing the front and rear shocks a mechanic's job? Or Could I do it myself I am decent with wrenches and such.

Brakes, and easier things I can do.

If you can do brake work, you can do shocks. Just a couple nuts and bolts on each on.

A floor jack or similar under the corner that you are working on will help remove some tension. that will make it easier to get the new shock absorber on. I do not have a floor jack, but I have a 1500 pounds capacity atv jack that did the job just fine.

Yes, just as easy as the rears.... almost.

Easy job. You should do just fine with only hand tools and a jack.
