Accelerator Won't Press '00 Silverado

Recommended Posts

On occasion when I go to pull away the accelerator will not press in. I have to almost stomp on it before it will depress. I have gotten into the habit of checking it before I start the engine to avoid sounding as if I'm revving. What could be causing this? Any feedback would be appreciated...thanks!

Yup, give the throttle a good cleaning to get rid of all the Carbon...Very common.

If a cleaning doesn't clear it up, there was a TSB on this problem and the fix was adjusting the throttle blade, adding a plug to a hole in the blade, and changing the PCV valve to a fixed orifice one. Had to do this to the '00 I used to have.
