anyone with yokohama tires

Anyone running the Yokohama Geolander tires? I was thinking about getting a set of the A/T's in 285's. Your opinions please.

not the geolanders but the avs s/t and yokohama is about the only tire I will ever buy anymore

Ive got the Yoko Geolandor A/Ts on my 2000 Z-71. ive got them in the 265/70/17 size because I bought some Enkei 17" rims for my truck that a got a #### of a deal on. II really like the look of the tread on the tires and I thought the tire looked pretty good ,but ultimatley the price is what won me over from the others.(I really wanted BFG T/As.but im not rich!). they have very little road noise and have very good grip,dry or wet. The tires started out looking pretty aggressive but as they have worn they look more like a highway tire. but they still look more aggressive than a real highway tire. the one thing i must mention is that for some reason they have worn very quickly.That probably explains why they are so quiet and ride so smooth! i rotate them every 6,000 miles. I Think I may have like 25,000 miles on them ,if that! and i doubt i will get another 10,000 from them. but beside that its been a great tire. if i had the money to buy tires evry 30,000 mile i would buy them again ,but sadly i cant so i will have to put a second mortgage on my house this time and buy some BFG T/As . my buddys got like 55,000 on his and they still look decent. looking back i should have bought the BFGs the first time!! but like they say, you live and learn! good look with them. let me know if you want me to e-mail you a pic of my truck with the tires on them. email me @ work: [email protected]

I have the Geolanders as well. 265/75/16's. I really like the tire.....I'd say I have around 15k on the tires and looks like I'll get another 20-25k out of them. I havent had them in the snow yet, but in the sand they are awsome. This summer I had to pull out a S-10 blazer that had his 4wd crap out and he BURIED his rear tires. Some guy with a full size older blazer (95'ish) could not pull him out.....he just dug himself a hole. I hooked up and managed to yank him out.

I've also had them in the mud taking my quad around to ride. Works 10x better than the stock fire chickens. They also have very good road manners...again, MUCH better than the stockers....

so...overall, I'd recommend them and I will be buying them again for my truck.

I was thinking about getting them when I got the new tires for my Silverado. A friend had them and recommended them but then my dad's buddy at the tire shop didn't recommend them. He said that they wear quickly, have a tendancy to become out of round and out of balance, and cup easily. So, I decided to go with the Nitto Terra Grappler A/T's in LT285/75R16. IMO these tires are better than my BFGoodrich All Terrains on my other truck. Better grip, better ride, and they are super quiet yet very aggressive and they only ran me about $150 per tire at Discount Tire. I have pictures of the truck before and after the new meats. they don't wear quickly at all.

30K miles on mine and they are still at their peak.

we run them on our 18 wheelers hauling over 80tons and they last for months.

Well Guys,

I have a 99 GMC Sierra 1500. I do use Yokohama tires, but not the kind you are talking about.

I use the Yokohama AVS Sport 275/35ZR20.

GREAT tire, but short tread-life. I last about 12,000mi for a set of tires. Retail for the tires is $500@, but I get them closer to cost.

That tire and all the suspension work I have done lets me do more with that truck than most cars can do.

I have the Geolander AT's in the 285/75/16 size, I love them. Very quiet on the road, great tread pattern. I've wondered why more people haven't been buying them with the price you can get them for. check out my pictures to see the tires on my 2000 Chevy. I highly reccomend these tires.

I dont think they make Geolander A/Ts for 18 wheelers! I think the question he was asking was about a SPECIFIC Yoko tire (Geolandor A/T) not Yokohamas in general. Also the Geolanders come in diffrent tread patterns. my friend bought a new Mitsubishi Montero Sport and they had Yoko Geo H/ts. I cant comment on any others but the A/Ts.

Do you have the A/Ts Larry E.?
