Where's the door chime at?

I replaced the door whitches cause they were bad, and that fixed my dome light problem. The only thing is that now, when I shut the truck off and forget to shut the lights off, the chime thingy doens't go off. Anyone know where it's at or if there's something else I need to try?

Nah, the guy before me was a dumbass. hehe, luckily he always had it serviced engine-wise, but other than that, he didn't care. I fixed everything else so far. The dome light thing was from the bad switches. This is next on the list. ;) I got it really cheap though, and it is in excellent mechanical condition fortunately. I didn't care if I had to fix some stuff, but I wanted one that ran really well. lol, true though man, I appreciate all the help you've given me! (practically everything)

well is there a wire or something you forgot to hook up when you replaced the switches ??

Nope, there's only one wire to them and it's hooked up right. If it wasn't, the dome wouldn't come on. I have been looking and still haven't found it. I might end up having to call the dealer again. hehe, their # is on speeddial, but I'm sure they get tired of me.

well does the chime sound go off when you open your door with the keys still in the ignition?

The chime? no, it doesn't work any time whatsoever. That's why I think it's just that. The dome comes on with the doors open now with or without the key on.

That's probably true, but I want to "rechime it" lol hehe, I guess i could ask him, but I'd rather just figure it out myself. I bitched enough when I test drove it, I found all the little things (not engine or tranny stuff) suchas the chime, dome lights, etc. and jewed him down due to the cosmetic things needing to be fixed. I'll get it eventually, but I want to fix this stuff asap. I like messin 'roun with my vehicles. ;)

I'm hoping to work on it tomorrow night, but that might not work if I don't find the SOB.

The chime should be plugged into the electrical junction box under the dash, to the left of the brake pedal, that's where it was on my 98 so it should be the same on a 95. It will be a black box sticking out about 2.5", one side will look like it has a little speaker on it. It is about 2.5" x 2.5" x 1" thick. If there is nothing there try looking at a friends truck to see if you can find it or just go to the dealer.
