Squeaky Wheel Help

Recommended Posts

Posted

I just noticed that my driver side front wheel is making squeaky noises every once in a while while I'm driving (2007 Yukon Denali XL). As soon as I put pressure on the brake pedal it stops, once I let go it starts again. Then it will just disappear and come back later.

Anyone know what might be causing this?

Could be the brake pads wearing down to the wear indicator.

It squeaks when I'm not braking. When I brake the squeak stops.

That is exactly what a brake wear indicator (squealer)does when the pads are completely worn. Check that first before you start changing things that do not need replacing.

Ok now I'm confused, I thought the brake ware indicator would only make noise when I apply the brakes and not all the time. And when I push the brakes the noise stops.

This is throwing me off because I just my brakes and rotors replaced 6 months ago.
