Replace Factory Speakers

Hello, i'm wanting to replace my door speakers on my 2010 GMC Sierra xtended cab. I'm wanting to know what size they are front and back and if anyone cant tell me how difficult it is or have any step by step instructions.

Any help is totally appreciated..

You replace them with 6.5" speakers and you need to buy adapters to make them fit, scosche SAGMHR634 work good.

Thanks for the info. Another question... What is the degree of difficulty on removing the door panels???

I can do this myself if possible, just dont know if it's a pain to take them off.

Any pics???

If you order from http://www.crutchfield.com/app/car/carsele...ar%2fMyCar.aspx they will supply any plates you need and also put the correct connector on the speakers, for free, so that everything just bolts right up.

I assume the 2010 is similar to 2011 but I did use that thread above to take the door panels off of my 2011 Sierra over the weekend. I installed chrome door handles and thought about the speakers at that time. The 2011 is slightly different from that link but that thread will get you by. Also you don't need to worry about those clips mentioned in that thread, they have a new design.

 

 

I would recommend getting a set of nylon door panel tools though. I picked up a set at Harbor Frieght Tools for $8. That way, you have less of a chance scratching your door panels.

I replaced my speakers with kicker ks. they make a good sound also. I payed the guy at best buy with a 26 of spiced rum and he had the door panels off and speakers installed and i was out in the door in about 10 minutes. He has done a few haha

On my truck (2010 ECSB), I used the adaptor the stock speakers came in. Just carefully cut the old speakers out, and mount the new ones in their place. Both front and rear worked beautifully using this method. I did not document the install though, probably should have.
