Tire Weight

Does tire weight have anything to do with how many miles you get out of a tire? I was looking at the kumho at and bfg at and looking at same size the bfg is 54 lb at 31.7" tall. The kumho is 50 lbs at 31.6" tall. I know 4 lbs isn't a lot but only. 1" smaller. I've heard that the kumho has soft rubber. Oh both are in load E.

I don't know about the wear part of it all, but you will get better fuel mileage and stopping distance out of the lighter tires; due to less rotating mass.

I put the Toyo Open Country M/T on my 99 silverado. They weighed somewhere around 72-75lbs PER TIRE!! Loved the tire, HATED the trucks performance afterwards. I'm now looking for the lightest tire in my selections I can find. Tire weight should be a big consideration if you value performance. Also my Toyo's were LRE tires which are 10 ply and rode rough as hell. I'm now looking for LRD tires which have 8 plys and HOPEFULLY ride a little smoother. Just one more opinion.
