Just installed a flowmaster 40 series dual exhaust on my truck and love the sound and performance. Do you need to disconnect the battery after the install so the truck's computer reprograms itself and if so how long do you leave it disconnected for ?

It's not necessary, but it won't hurt anything either. I always un-hook the battery for 10 minutes.

you can for about 10 min or so.. if any wielding is done on the exhaust, or any part if a vehicle, the battery should always be disconnected just to be safe. most ECM's don't fair well to 120+ amps due to a bad ground in the system.. :sigh:

Any time I'm doing serious work, I disconnect. I probably need more electro-shock therapy, but I'd rather have it under supervised conditions.
