Hey guys, I have a 2001 Bravada similar in almost every way to the 2000-2002 Chevy Blazers and Jimmy's of a certain year.

So I have been getting all these codes referring to my EVAP system:

a) FTP sensor issues

b) 5 volt reference faults from PCM

c) Purge vent solenoid condition

These all point to my EVAP system. I had my Fuel tank pressure sensore replaced yesterday and still have the same codes. SO I naturally assume it's an electrical issue along the chain. I've included an easy diagrram of my EVAP electrical system to help in troubleshooting.

I read somewhere that a bad 5 volt reference can ruin the whole EVAP process causing bad readings. I'm basically wondering if these are all specific problems or can I solve them by fixing the ground at the PCM.

P.S> I've recently had my canister hose checked for leaks and it's all good. I got a new fuel pump recently as well.

Without a 5V reference, the first indicator would be a non-operating fuel pump & gauge. That's the easy part.

P0446 GM

EVAP vent system performance

– The FTP is less than -2.0mm Hg(-1in H2O) .The ECM detects a large leak in the EVAP system. For more than 4 seconds

Probable Cause

1. A damaged EVAP vent valve ,A damaged EVAP canister

2. Pinched or restricted EVAP vent hose

3. FTP sensor

P0449 GM

EVAP vent solenoid control circuit

– The ECM detects the voltage on the EVAP canister vent valve control circuit is between 2.6-4.6 volts when the driver is commanded off,for more than 4 seconds

Probable Cause

1. Open or short circuit condition

2. Poor electrical connection

3. EVAP canister vent valve

4. ECM fault

P1639 GM

PCM 5 volt reference voltage circuit condition

– The ECM has detected a fault in the 5 volt reference voltage line

Probable Cause

1. Sensor using 5 volt reference line shorted to ground

2. Circuit short to ground
