So i was applying the E brake the other day and I heard a crack in my seat. Now i have no lumbar support. its a 08 silverado CC LT. Easy fix?

Mine broke in my 07 but it was covered in my 36k/3yr. It took them half a day to fix it. Don't know if the tech was just strickly working on mine or jumping between vehicles , i didn't ask but he did say that it was a pain.

how hard were stepping on the ebrake?

Ha, i knew someone would ask that. Not hard at all, i was just applying it after parking like i always do. Im gonna have to open it up and take a look, if its just a tab like the link that was posted and I can rig it, ill be happy.

its the plastic piece that goes around the cable and the metal arm at the end that broke. Man, the stuff is flimsy, i can see why it broke. Im not an overly large dude either, im only about 6'4 - 225. I pulled a sticker off of it with what i thought were part numbers, but neither show up in the search at gmpartsdirect.

I shouldn't have posted anything in this post regarding this issue. Now mine broke today FML!

How did you get that thing out? I would like to take a look and see what happened?

I just pushed down the plastic panel and then pulled out. its pretty easy to get out. Its not easy to find one in a junkyard however. and for 90 bucks im gonna rig it instead.

Yea I got a piece of 1/8" 6010 welding wire that I am going to try to bend into some shape close to what came out. It is a pretty simple design, i don't know why it has all of those loopdy loes in it....
