I'm in the market for some new tires. I got about 65k miles out of the Michelin LTX AT2 that I currently have. They have been a great riding tire, but didn't provide much of the look that I was going after. I prefer the look of the BFG AT KO with RWL over the Michelin. I was pricing new tires this weekend and was quoted an out the door price of around $1300 with taxes, 3 year alignment ($115), old tire disposal, etc.

 

Now, today I see a commercial for Tire Kingdom (NTB) that is advertising a buy 1, get 1 free or buy 2, get 2 free on certain brands. In the 285/70-17 size, they have certain Cooper tires, Nitto or Pirelli. They do not have the Cooper Zeon that I keep seeing around here as part of the promotion. The Nitto tire under the promo is the Crosstek HD. I can have all 4 tires, lifetime rotate and balance, tire disposal, taxes, and 3 year alignment for $800. I would prefer a raised white tire, but these don't come that way. Anybody have any experience with these? For a $500 savings, I'm tempted. The promotion ends Sunday, so any opinions are welcome.

If you google the Crosstek HDs it states that they are made for 3/4 to 1 ton trucks and heavy loads. I don't know how that would affect the ride, but I wouldn't do it just out of reason IMO.

Isn't the only difference in the 3/4 and 1 ton truck tires the load range? I think the tires I have now are E rated, but I'm not positive. How will driving a 1/2 ton truck differ from a 3/4 or 1 ton with these tires? Are there other issues that I should be aware of that I might be missing?

I have the Nitto Crosstek HD on my 2008 Silverado Max 4x4 I went up to a 285/70/17 on the factory wheels. I wanted to go to a E load range tire like this, and they are great. They are allot stiffer than the stock P series tires. 25k miles and still look new just remember if you upgrade to a LT tire to increase the air PSI. 35 psi in a P tire is the same as 50 in a LT I run 55 psi in the front and 50 in the rear while unloaded

I did this deal through NTB a week ago. I talked them into the Terra Grapplers tho, i liked the design better. Cost was $749.01
