I'm looking at buying a slide in popup truck camper for my 05 Sierra 1500 4door 4wd. All my searches for air bags come up with non-adjustable aircells by Airlift. I would prefer adjustable air bags over adda leafs. anyone else have airbags in this truck?

Well I personally don't have air bags on my truck nor a camper but my buddies do and one has beefier leafs and the other has air bags, but the air bags are only used for lowering his truck other uses leaf for his camper and haulin so I would suggest leafs cause good air bags cost$$$$$$$ and cheap ones can blow. Your decision.

the firestone bags work well, we use them on our trucks at work. I am considering them for my truck camper. I would much rather have the bags and be able to adjust them vs. an extra leaf that will bounce you to death when you do not have the camper loaded.

I have Air Lift Rear Bags to help with Towing my boat.......I also have their On-Board Compressor and Gauge/Controls in the cab, being able to adjust the bags for the change in road condition is a great feature to have......going on 8 years and not one problem with the airbags,compressor....and gauge/controls.

I use Firestone. Brother uses Firestone. Buddy uses Firestone. No failures in over 250000 kms between the three trucks. Add a leafs change the ride quality all the time, air bags can be inflated when you need them. I find if I leave 5 psi in them the truck rides better than stock.

    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
