What Did You Do To Your Classic Truck Today?

I polished my head lights, tail lights and marker lights with Maquires, was long over-do, much better.

Removed the 4 foot wide CHEVROLET banner from the tailgate, got it off without bending it up, hung on the garage wall, looks better there than it ever did on the tailgate.

I was just wondering what some of the rest of you did to your Classic Truck.

I installed a late model GMC grill in my truck and tinted the turn signals. I'm also wanting to install a billet grill in it somtime.

Like you I'm thinking about removing that emblem off the tailgate to but can't make up my mind. I have already debadged the rest of the truck.

... WASN'T TODAY ... but last weekend I hitched up the 5th Wheel trailer for the first camping trip of the summer

... hadn't driven it much the past 6 months so with the trailer on I really noticed the front end had a lot of play. During the week I got the tie rod ends replaced and a wheel alignment

good job guys.

Today I finally got my new 355 sbc broken in, after a loooong rebuild project on my 81 k10. went as smooth as I could of asked for. all that went wrong was a leaky oil press gauge fitting.

25 min, 1600-2000 rpm cam break in with open headers on a street packed with seniors.. yikes. no cops showed up fortunatley for me!

heres a link to my vid. i'll get another one of the beast idling after a couple more heat cycles.

While you guys were messing with your 80s and 90s trucks I was working on my 57. I picked up complete 87 Corvette front and rear suspensions and am planning on using a Progressive Automotive install kit to put all of this under the old truck. I have a BBC left over from another truck which I'll use for power. It ought to be a fun (and interesting) build.

57's were some of the best looking trucks Chevy ever made. I kind of hate to hear your going to alter it. At least it will be drivable, I've got a 62 that is too slow, won't stop quick enough or handle well enough to really put out in traffic, I'll be interested to see how your conversion goes. Maybe it will give me motivation to something with mine.

I know what you're saying, I love restored old trucks and had a nice 56 a few years ago. But I hated the way it drove, rode, and stopped. I have a good friend who does the late model Corvette suspension with custom frames for the early Corvettes. He just did a 67 Chevelle wagon with an L76 engine and 6 speed auto out of a wrecked G8. After riding in it I decided to do that to my 57. I can also now have a/c which is a must in S. Texas, p/s, p/b and actually have a truck I can jump in and go somewhere at more than 50 mph.
