Hi guys I have a 2004 Chevy silverado with a 4.8liter and 80,000 miles. She tends to shift a little hard from 1st gear to second gear. Shes been doing this for about a year but I just did a tranny flush 3 days ago and I thought that it would help, but she still does it. She shifts at about 1000 to 1500 rpm which isnt bad and sometimes it feels like she shifts normal. At this point it isnt to bad but I dont want it to get worse, dpes this sound like something with the tranny or maybe something with the drive shaft? I dont get any check engine lights. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Mine did this stock. Seems the computer gets trick so it tries to do a fast shift. Once I got a corvette servo it stopped. Also a tune can get rid of it.

My Sierra was doing that, and it stopped when I got my new tires. I learned from the tire place that they re-programmed my computer to accept the larger tires. This improved my shifting greatly! Find someone with a tech 2 scan tool and have them check your programming. It might have just "hiccuped" and not be where it should.

And it is not the driveshaft. Clunking or squeaking may be universal joints, but a firm or hard shift is not a driveshaft issue, yet.
