Getting Several Codes

Hey guys, I'm a newb to the site, but have owned several GM trucks in the past, currently on my 5th. I have an 03 Silverado, 5.3l, extended cab. I'm getting the following codes;

 

P0101 - Mass or Volume air flow circuit Range/Performance

P0171 - System too lean (bank one)

P0174 - System too lean (bank two)

P0300 - Random/Multiple cylinder misfire detected (all 8 cylinders)

 

One mechanic says it could be a fuel filter, another one says it could be an O2 sensor. Any advice before I start throwing random parts at it?

Hmmm a fuel filter has sensors? Also I know my truck has the fuel filter that you can't replace maybe yours is the same? 02 sensors causing all those problems? I know when they go out they usually throw out voltage problems or bad 02 sensors. Check your MAF Sensor, clean and inspect, check the connector for any chaffing or broken wires, then clear your codes and see if anything returns, my dads truck had some of the same codes so he ended up replacing the MAF sensor and it corrected the codes.

All of those codes could come from a faulty MAF sensor. It's could just be dirty. Are you running k&n or equal oiled air filter? I'd suggest getting MAF cleaner, cleaning it and resetting the PCM (disconnect neg side of battery for 10) and see if the codes come back.

Also, I noticed the check engine light only comes on at random times, I haven't noticed any specific pattern yet.. I do have a cold air intake, the filter isnt oiled, but I just put it on a week ago and the codes were there before I installed it.

Even though the light goes out im pretty sure the codes are still stored. But like (we) said before, check the MAF Sensor, seems faulty.
