A/c Warm On Driver Side And Cold On Passenger Side

Question

I have a 2001 Savana that is having problems with the air temperature from the front vents. The driver side vent and two center vents blow warmer air than the passenge side vent. The passenger side vent blows air the temperature that would be expected based on the temperature setting. The other vents never get fully cold.

Is there an actuator that might be bad? Where is it located?

I have a group of scouts that I'll be taking on a 200+ mile trip next Friday and I need to get this fixed.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Could be an actuator, could be low on freon.

Since the passenger side vent is blowing very cold and dry air, my guess is that the AC charge is OK. I've also had a couple of occasions where all vents were blowing cold air. When this happens is usually after going over a few bumps in the road.

Is there an actuator/door that controls the airflow to the center and driver side vents separately from the passenger side vent?

have had this happen on a couple of our trucks and had the actuator replaced and it still did it, we ended up pulling the dash apart and found a pen had fallen down the dash vent and held the door open.hope this helps

Having the same issue on a 2005 chevy truck. Mine is blowing hot air on the pass side and cold air in center and drivers side. How easy is it to tear the dash out on this truck?
