lower temp thermostats

Is it a good idea to install a low temp (180-160 deg.) thermostat when using a blower?  What would be the pros & cons?

I just installed a Whipple on my H2 and they provided a new 160 thermostat for the install.

Yes, it will help.  It helps keep things cooler therefore allowing more aggressive timing and fuel curves without detonation.  Anytime you add a major power adder (heads/cam, blower, turbo, nitrous) it's a good practice to run the system cooler.
