05 Suburban Auto Ride Compressor

Hey all. My wife's Service Ride Control light came on awhile ago, and after resarching this site someone gave a web site to a place that sells new compressors and an air dryer rebuild kit for $185.00. http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_CHEVROLET_Air_Suspension_Parts_yid11_pid93_gid356.html

 

Anyhow, my buddy who is a mechanic has the same problem on his Yukon. We each were going to buy the part from the above site. Just for grins he asked the owner of the part store he gets all his stuff from, and they can get one for $150.00 but without the dryer kit.

 

Basically I was wondering if the air dryer rebuild kit is important or not.

These usually fail due to water ingestion so I'd be replacing the air dryer with the compressor, if it was mine.
