Drivers Seat Sag

I have a 2009 Silverado SLT with leather interior. I have noticed more and more lately that the drivers seat is more and more like sitting in a peach basket. The seat-bottom is sagged somewhat and the side of the seat bottom has cracked (the pleather) where it bulges towards the driver door. I get a loaned usually when I take my truck for service ans always notice how less firm my seat is than the loaner (after driving the load for a few days). My truck has about 55k mile and I weigh about 165.

Is anyone else experiencing this sort of failure? Is there a fix or a way of replacing or adding foam to the seat bottom?

there's a TSB on the leather seats, not really sure what it entails, search the forum and you might find it.

I've been only able to find a TSB on deteriorating leather seats in the 2005 model year range. There is also a more recent TSB for black cloth seats.

Felt the same issue in my '03 when new. Seat front bolster which should support shorter driver under their knees constantly put pressure on my long legged thighs. Very uncomfortable. No leather here, but...

I ended up threading strips of very dense 3/8" thick felt between spring and underside of existg padding.

Ended up installing 2 layers of the stuff. Big improvement.

I have definitely noticed sagging in the seats in my truck, which I'm sad to say is quite a bit older than yours. I did add the factory power lumbar device, which helped... but it seems to press on my back way too high, as if the seat bottom has in fact, sagged...

Unfortunately I have experienced this problem with several GM vehicles. My '07 NBS is starting to do the same thing. The worst by far was an '04 Impala where there is literally a pipe in the seat frame that crosses under the theighs. The factory foam broke down within the first 30K miles to where the pipe could be felt through the foam padding. GM replaced the spring base and foam under warranty but it fail again in the same mileage.

I found a decent fix is a layer or 2 of high density carpet foam inserted between the spring lattice and the seat foam. Most cases this takes the sag out of the seat. The Impala was bad enough that I eventually ran zip-ties through the small coil springs to limit their sag.
