Hmmm, anyone also note that between the ford and Chevy.  Both automatic trucks were quicker than their manual shifted counterparts????  That would contradict what a few here (Kansas Kid??) thought about the manual being quicker between the two.

Of course the grade test next week may be different, I just thought I'd point that out.

BTW, why no pics with the Chevy pulling the Dodge or ford?  Except for the front page, all the pics were the SD and Ram pulling the Chevy.  :D

I figured the new HO motors would lay the smack down on the DMAX but it seems that they are barely beating out the ole DMAX...Still not 100% why you would want to run these trucks in the 1/4 with a 12K trailer but hey do what makes you happy...If I had to buy one I would go with either the DMAX or Cummins...the Powerstroke isn't proven yet and the proven 7.3 Powerstroke had it's own quality issues so I can only imagine what a clean sheet designed G2 Powerstroke will have in quality concerns..Also notice how how the Torqueshift is basically the same as the Allision tranny....Ford can't design their own tranny so they copy the Allision...lmao :thumb:

Because 1/4 mile acceleration is a good measure of standing start acceleration.  The faster you can twist your mass from a dead stop to safe merging and highway speeds the better and safer IMO.

While you may never take your truck to the drag strip and test it with a 12,000 lb trailer, chances are you will be in stop and go and highway merge traffic where starting off and accelerating is important.
