Random Bass Increase On Stock Headunit

Ok so I have an 05 colorado with the stock radio that is stamped with MP3 and displays the song name from the radio and such. And it seems like now everytime a new song comes on, I change the station, or touch the volume knob the bass setting cranks way the hell up and then the door panels vibrate. Its a real pain. When I first got the truck it did it once a month maybe and the dealer couldnt replicate it when the truck was under warranty. But now its totally unbearable. I can solder, I have HP Tuners (though support for this truck is real limited and I have no BCM connectivity with it), I know my way around other computer tricks how the hell do I fix this, preferably without replacing the headunit.

Wow that is weird. Cant image it being anything other then the head unit though. Probably get a used one cheap some where if you are ok with OEM.

Sorry I cant help more...

Its weird. I even tried using one of the presets for bass, treble and mid and it still switched to custom mode and jacked the bass way up.

Just to update. I found out that it was the auto-volume that was turning the base up. I turned the auto-volume off and so far no random base.
