OK, went to go get a pack of smokes. Fire up the truck; let the knocking quit and warm up. Throw her in r and back up. To my surprise I get a leg full of water. The entire top console is full of water. Needless to say not only did a pack of smokes to come home with me but also a cold six pack of Michelob Amber bock. Not bad beer kind of stout but good on a rainy nasty night. Why me? This sucks all around. Finally got a truck that I wanted and I get punched in the eye.

That really sucks dude.Where is it coming from, the windshield?

If that's the case then it's not exclusive to GM.My father had to have his windshiled seal replaced on his '03 F350 less than a month after buying it so,and I know this won't really make you feel any better,it can happen to any brand.

After looking at posts I bet it is my marker lights on the roof. It has the overhead console filled with water. It is dark and raining. I  did not put much effort into it. Guess the shop will have a visit form me. I got a list of stuff they need to look at. The shop people have not been helpful lately. Everything is normal. Knocks clunks, weird shifts. Any thing I do not like is normal. So I wonder if water leaking will fall into that also. Pretty discouraged with my  purcahse at this point in time. Good thing  beer is still the same.    :P

My marker lights leaked     The dealer removed and resealed them and all has been OK so far.  The water came out through the closed cubby hole...  I think that is where alot of the Onstar equip is.

As far as the weird shifts, have the dealer update the computer on your truck.  My computer has been updated at least 4 times in the 1 1/2 years I've owned it.  The last tranny update was for a situation when I stepped on the gas and the truck would rev (like in neutral) and then it would slam into first.  The update cured that problem, and the tranny has been impressive to say the least ever since!!!  That is towing or empty!!!   :thumb:

Heard that...I took the HD to the dealer once for a broke spring in the seat I could visible see the broke spring and it squeaked like a mother they said it was normal...and did nothing to replace it...I can live with it but I'm sure I...eh....the truck will tear out a rear-end or something to make it good within my 100K warranty...

Maggot,

sorry to hear about your "inside the cab shower", but I wish to of one bit of advice.

"don't ever challange Mr Worse" .  As soon as you say, "it can't get any worse", or  "What else could happen".   BAMMM! something does.

Amber Bock is good, but I prefer Guiness. :puke:

I have been very lucky with my truck, I have not experienced any of the problems that people on this site have be talking about EXCEPT high oil consumption (still, currently at 18750) and "cold start knocking"  that last up to 2 - 5 minutes after starting.

Hope all works out man.

bummed.   :puke:

I have had it in for a multiple list at 10,000miles. I wanted to give it time to "settle" down and get a feel for it. My list got slammed by the srevice witer and all they did was align the front end. My list was like this.

Me                            Them

Cold Knock          Customer annoyance normal sound

Tranny Slips        Customer annoyance normal for that tranny

Front end clunk     Customer annoyance normal

Front end sluggish     Front end align

Drive line clunk and shimmy    Customer annoyance normal

Now I know there are some TSBs that address some of the issues and I asked about them and he said that the 02 1500hd did not fall into any of them and it was normal.  I let it go until now since winter in here and my wagon is put up for the season. All I have now is time to bug the he11 out of my dealer. Think I am being overly picky?

Beer fizz to be Banned-

Washington (Reuters) - 22 Nov 2002 13:10

Environmentalists are concerned about the growing threat of greenhouse gases such as Carbon Dioxide, causing global climate change.  In a study published last year, beer has been discovered to be a major source of atmospheric Carbon Dioxide.  Today in Washington, environmentalists have successfully lobbied to have it removed from beer.  As of January 2003, all beer must be produced without fizz or must use an environmentally sound alternate gases.  One such gas, xenon, has been tested as a replacement with good results.   Taste testers have remarked that the fizz is just as good as the old Carbon Dioxide based fizz, it just gives the beer a bad taste.  Environmental groups hail the development as major step towards saving the environment, and further stated, that if they discover anyone else having fun, they will get that regulated too.

I brew beer as a hobby. Started when I was in the Army because our beer budget  between me and my buddy was 200$ a week and was not enough. So we figured 200$ could brew us 15 gallons a week  once we got our rotations going, and that would be just about right and we could make it stronger than the commerical stuff.  13% was our strongest.True beer is naturally carbonated. Them frigging green wennies  commie cork sucking SOBs can not let anything go and now they have crossed the line. Do not mess with my beer.   :puke:  :puke:

Screw them!  I hope this is just a joke because this is more of a hot spot to me than trucks. Heck you can have my truck, my dog, my tractor. But leave my beer alone.  :puke:  :puke:

I have had it with them crybaby tree hugging suv hating freaks. Got my sphincter all in an uproar .

What about the Methane gas that is released the next day :puke:

Why is it that those cab lights are covered for 3 years. When some after market shops will gaurantee them for as long as you own the truck ???

For me. Crisp, Clean Budweiser. Ahhh!  :puke:

What happen to  the American auto industry. Cab lights, motors, trannies , and drive lines have been around for a couple years I think. We should not even be having this discussion about knocks, clunks, leaks in 2002. I am a computer consultant and if my systems acted like my truck  my family and I  would be eating dog food and living in a van down by the river. And if I treated my customers like GM does we  would be eating tree bark living in a rotten stump down by the river.

Relax, relax, it was just a joke :puke:   Just poking fun at the left wing Commies, always looking for an excuse to take away another one of our freedoms. Actually, I don't even drink, but that is my choice.

Although, come to think of it, we better keep this quiet.  We don't want to give them any ideas...   :puke:
