I have a 94 Sierra 5.0L and noticed the other day when I was boosting a car, that my AC clutch was cycling off and on, but I didn't have the AC turned on. It wasn't that it just did this once, in 5 minutes of so, it was cycling probably every 45 seconds or less, and probably stay on for about 15 seconds then go off. Is this normal? If not any suggestions as to why and what I can do myself.

Defrost was probably on. Most people don't realize that the A/C is used in the defrost setting to remove humidity from the air, & clear the windshield quicker.

Below a certain temperature, the compressor will not kick on to prevent slugging (chunks of oil instead of a mist of oil). Slugging will destroy a compressor pretty quick.
