Hvac Troubles

well recently my battery died, temp/vent settings went bonkers...needless to say the temp thing fixed itself somehow but now the vent setting is stuck on defog, if i move the dial to any of the settings besides defog or defrost it does nothing, but if i move it to defog or defrost the a/c compressor kicks on so it knows somewhat of the vent change....is my blend door dead? or does the vent settings have to be reset with a tech2? or what? i'm not super concerned as long as i have heat and can de-ice my windshield with the coming winter....thanks in advance

I had that happen to a 2005 Yukon. I had to pull the AC fuse from under the hood for it to reset (disconnecting the battery did nothing). Don't ask me why pulling the fuse fixed it when disconnecting the battery did not.
