I just Picked up a C65, it has a 5 +2 Transmission/Axle. The labeling is off the Axle shift lever, how do I tell if i am in high or low range? What is the shifting pattern?

Thanks

Pull up for high, push down for low. As far as the shifting I am not sure if it is reverse up and over or away from you and down. Sorry

I used to drive one like that. It had a 427, a Clark 5 speed, and a 2 speed Eaton rear axle. The shift pattern was 1L, 1H, 2L, 2H, 3L, 3H, 4L, 5L, 4H, 5H. The thing is that was the pattern for that particular truck, based on transmission and axle gear ratios. Yours could be different. GM usually had a plate above the sun visor stating what the shift pattern was. If you don't have one, I would look for an operator's manual for that truck. You can try here:
