Hi,

Now I know how to remove and replace the Wheel Hubs - I need to decide what brand of Wheel Hub to replace the old ones with.

Experience tells me Timken is a great brand, O'Reiley has Master Pro & National, NAPA have their own brand, and on and on it goes.

It seems that these run between $100 & $200 and I would like to know what the general experience is out there?

Again, money is limited, so Genuine is out of the question.

Any recommendations on this 'can of worms?'

Well we all know how well the OEM ones hold up ..... so that leaves Timken - been around for years building bearings of every time. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in mine.

I've also had good luck with NAPA's top-of-the-line bearings - they were made in USA, vs. Mexico for the cheap ones. A bit pricey, but came with a lifetime warranty ... so if at any time they fail you just bring them back for another set (they're betting that you won't have the vehicle that long - most people won't).

No O'Reiley out this way - just Advance Auto, Autozone, Carquest, & NAPA.

Advance has some real good prices, especially with the coupon codes you can enter online. I think they're known as Checker out west. Just stay away from anything with ONE YEAR warranty. Made in China ... and you'll be LUCKY to get a full year out of them. I got 6 months out of a set of chinese ball joints once. I knew the minute I looked at them they weren't going to last. The "rubber" boots looked PLASTIC .... absolute garbage.

i have to add a tale about jobber ball joints/piitman arms/idler arms....

the army i work for gets the cheapest crap goin and when i see a ball joint with a felt "washer" as a seal/boot my blood boils...

spending a few more bucks for OEM would kill them i think .....

rant off

i like OEM parts alot but the cost freaks people out .....im biased from having worked for GM i guess

the old saying goes "ya get what ya pay for" does play out sometimes
